Humanism

Carl Rogers, Abraham Maslow

- In response to behaviorism and psychoanalysis
- Focuses on a person's personal growth, free will and the self-actualization concept.

Psychoanalysis

Sigmund Freud

Emphasizes the influence of the unconscious mind on behavior. The human mind is composed of 3 elements: id, ego, and superego.

Cognitive

- The study of mental processes such as attention, language use, memory, perception, problem solving, creativity, and thinking
- What is happening within our minds that links stimulus (input) and response (output)
