The reason why couples don't want to have children is because of the high cost of bringing up children in Singapore they require good education and there are no subsidies for the baby if you give birth to one.
Government has also increased the foreign maid levy and hence raising the cost of bringing up a child in Singapore. people are still having child but most of them are having lesser children than compared to the past years.
In conclusion , the reason behind the declining birth rate in Singapore is because of the people's career mindset and educations encouraging them to work for the country instead of having children.
