Pull Factors

Push factors in their community

- conflict - poor economy - lack of opportunities - unemployment - Lack of food/water. (drought/famine)

Refugees

why does this matter to our future

with the population changing in many different ways, there are many things that can affect the future. dependency load is the percentage of people who are unable to care for themselves, such as infants and the elderly. if that percentage rises in the future (which it possibly will), the economy's growth, savings will be negatively affected. Canada's economy will have to adjust to the amount of dependent people in the economy, and provide for each one of them. The governments money will be in providing the adequate amount of care for these people. Taxes will also be raised, as the government uses the money to take care of these people.

Immigrants

immigrants are individuals that move from their home country to a different country. Reasons could be that they are in need of a life change. Their previous accommodation may not have been suitable, or there is no means of becoming successful.

Refugees are individuals fleeing or forced to leave their home country for the reason that they are either facing persecution, wars, natural disasters etc. There are also refugees called economic refugees. These refugees leave their homes country or town to a different area. They are in search of better jobs, adequate living conditions and a sustainable lifestyle

Pros

With Canada's population changing by receiving many immigrant and refugees there are many advantages and disadvantages with the rising population. If more immigrants populate Canada, the people would need jobs to provide for themselves and family. More consumption means more income in the economy, which results in an inflation in Canada's economy. Some immigrants and refugees have many skills in different areas and that is a benefit to the Canadian workforce . With these people coming into Canada, it makes the country a more diverse place for many different cultures.

cons
With all the people populating the country, more necessities are certainly needed. This can cause a straining in housing/ realtors, health& educational services, farming and use of natural resources. Those resources which are non- renewable such as fossil fuels, are being used more and cannot be replaced as quick as they are being used.
