Sounds

The Doppler Effect explains why the pitch of sounds changes as the source moves relative to the observer, such as the high-pitched siren of an approaching ambulance that drops as it passes by.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound is used in many different fields. Ultrasonic devices are used to detect objects and measure distances. Ultrasonic imaging is used in both veterinary medicine and human medicine.
sound or other vibrations having an ultrasonic frequency, particularly as used in medical imaging.

Doppler Effect

Increase or decrease in the frequency of sound, light, or the other waves as the source or observer move toward or away from each other.

Echolocation

The location of objects by reflected sound, in particular that used by animals such as dolphins and bats.

Pitch

the quality of a sound governed by the rate of vibrations producing it; the degree of highness or lowness of a tone

Sonic Booms

To increase the intensity of a sonic boom, increase the size of the airplane. The larger the aircraft, the more air it displaces and the stronger the shock waves become. Also, the lower the altitude of the plane to the ground, the more intense the boom will be. That's because the shock waves will have less distance to travel before hitting the ground, and they will have lost less energy. To reduce the intensity of a sonic boom, decrease the size of the plane and increase the flying altitude.
A loud explosive noise caused by a shock wave from an aircraft traveling faster than the speed of sound.
