We come together to thank the wise Teachers who have guided us throughout the ages. When we forget how to live in harmony, they remind us of the way we were meant to live. With one mind, we send our thanks to these caring Teachers. Now our minds are one.

Our Eldest Brother the Sun

We send our thanks to our eldest brother, the Sun. Every day, he rises and moves across the sky, bringing light to the world. He is the source of all life’s warmth and energy. With one mind, we thank our Brother, the Sun. Now our minds are one.

Birds

We join our minds to thank all the birds that fly above us. Their songs remind us to appreciate life, and the Eagle watches over them. To all the birds, big and small, we send our thanks. Now our minds are one.

Animal Life

We come together to thank all the animals who walk with us. They teach us many things, and we are grateful they share their lives with us. Let’s join our minds and send our thanks to the animals. Now our minds are one.

Trees

Around us, we see the Trees, each with its special purpose, like giving shade or fruit. The Maple leads by offering sap when needed. Trees are symbols of peace and strength. With one mind, we thank the Trees. Now our minds are one.

Fish Life In the Water

We think about all the Fish in the water. They were given the job of cleaning and purifying the water. They also provide food for us. We are thankful that they continue to do their work, and we send our thanks and greetings to the Fish. Now our minds are one.

Cycles of Life

We have come together, and when we look at the faces around us, we see that life keeps going on. We have been given the responsibility to live in peace and balance with each other and with all living things. So now, let us come together in thought, and give thanks and greetings to each other as People. Now, our minds are one.

The Creator

We now turn our thoughts to the Creator, the Great Spirit, and send our thanks for all the gifts of Creation. Everything we need to live a good life is here on Mother Earth. For all the love that surrounds us, we gather our minds as one and send our deepest thanks to the Creator. Now our minds are one.

Our Oldest Grandmother The Moon

We thank our Grandmother, the Moon, who lights the night sky, leads women, controls the ocean tides, and watches over the arrival of children. By her changing face, we measure time. We also thank the Stars, spread across the sky like jewelry, who help the Moon light the darkness and bring dew to the plants. They guide us when we travel at night. With one mind, we send our thanks to the Moon and the Stars. Now our minds are one.

Grandfather the Thunder Being

Now we turn to the west, where our grandfathers, the Thunder Beings, live. With lightning and thunder, they bring the water that gives life. We come together to send our thanks and greetings to our Grandfathers, the Thunderers.

Four Winds

We are thankful for the Four Winds. They refresh the air we breathe, bring the seasons, and give us strength. With one mind, we send our thanks to the Four Winds. Now our minds are one.

Strawberries

We see the berries are still here, giving us tasty food. The strawberry leads, being the first to ripen in spring. Let’s agree to be thankful for the berries and send our thanks, love, and respect. Now our minds are one.

Three Sister

With one mind, we thank all the food plants, especially the Three Sisters, who provide so much. Grains, vegetables, beans, and fruits have helped people survive since the beginning of time. We also thank the plants that feed other living things. Now our minds are one.
