Parents have the right to decide what their students are exposed to.

Cons:

The classroom is where children learn to be human beings. If they aren't exposed to the world in the classroom, they will ask questions and find things out for themselves outside of the safe environment we can provide them with a structured, meaningful classroom setting.

Parents can control what their children read, but that shouldn't restrict others.

Most books that are banned show contesting world views, which can be very insightful for young minds.

Pros:

Homework can be a good review

Holding students accountable for
being able to independently do the
content presented in class

Learning time management and responsibility

Cons:

Students don't have as much time to be kids

Less sleep

Many kids don't see the value of busy work,
rendering homework useless
