Role of Teacher-Librarian
Provide information and ideas
The library is the hub of all school and is equipped with multiple resources. The teacher librarian should stay current in his/or her practice in proposing new services for student that will aid them in them in their learning of new information and ideas.
Caring
Develop imagination
Providing learning spaces and materials in the library that enable students to think, build and create. To challenge their current thinking and develop new ways of thinking.
Team Player
Working collaboratively with fellow teachers, support staff, administration, and parents to help collaborate the best form of education possible for students.
Approachable
Assist in developing life long learning skills
By staying current with the times and trends in learning, teacher librarians model to students how to be life long learners and how to respond positively to changes in resource services. Assisting students to continue to enjoy positive changes in education and experiment with their own learning.
Cultivate responsible citizens
By organizing school activities for students to participate in that promote cultural sensitivity and all the while maintaining the library and educating students on respecting the learning materials provided, and teaching how to be responsible students online and in the learning commons of the school library.
