Communication Technology

ICT Stands for
"Information and
Communication
Technologies."
ICT refers to
technologies
that provide access to
information through
telecommunications.

Is a term growing
in popularity, espe-
cially when the world
is slowly depending
more and more in it

Four parts of the Universal System Model

output

desired result,
outcome, or goal

process

the operations that
occur to transform the
inputs to the desired
outputs

input

the basic materials or
resources that will be
transformed to the
output.

feedback

the element of
control. If the
desired output is not
achieved, the process
and/or the inputs
must be
adjusted to achieve the
desired result.

Digital Imaging

What is it?

the creation of a digitally
encoded representation
of the visual characteristics
of an object, such as a physical
scene or the interior structure
of an object

When and by who
was it created?

The first digital image was
produced in 1920, by the
Bartlane cable picture
transmission system.

How the communication concepts
of designing, encoding, storing,
retrieving, transmitting, and
receiving apply to a TV show as it
is produced, taped and aired

TV is heavily influenced by the
Internt, not only by new companies
that use the internet taking over
buisnesses such as Blockbuster,
for example, but by the people and
users themselves. It directly influences
productions of TV Shows, since they are,
after all, the audience.
TV shows are also transmitted by encoding,
storing, retrieving and finally transmitting the
footage on air.

Examples of telecommunications

Corporate, academic wide-area
networks, the internet. The internet
is the largest and most important of the tele-
communication devices.
