Efforts are underway to enhance bike and pedestrian safety through education and community engagement. Programs include safety presentations for various grade levels, such as bike rodeos and pedestrian safety assemblies.

Marketing
Design and implement a marketing campaign tailored to the westside residents and geared to low-income and minority populations, utilizing a variety of communication channels, emphasizing the joy, ease and rewards of biking, with the goal of encouraging more residents to bike.
Coordination
Coordinate with local CBOs to expand reach and depth of bicycle safety and encouragement activities, especially for low-income and minority populations.
Coordinate planning and design details of the 4-year bike safety and encouragement campaign with local partners.
Family Oriented Programming
Provide family-focused Urban Bicycling Presentations, covering the basics of biking, geared to low-income and minority populations.
Provide on-bike safety training for residents of all ages, geared to low-income and minority populations.
Provide basic bike maintenance and check list of bigger maintenance tasks to community residents during a defined event, geared to low-income and minority populations.
Host community-based, fun family bike ride, geared to low-income and minority populations.
Provide youth bicycle rodeo at annual Open Streets events (x 4 years)
