NASA's vision of future air travel
Hobbies in Aviation
Fairmont Flyers - That's me in the middle with my eyes closed. I'm helping present an outreach award to the Fairmont Flyers from the AMA.
The Guy on the end does research for NASA's Dryden

Another job in WV in AVIATION!!!!!
Academy of Model Aeronatics
Anatomy of an Airfoil
Angle of Attack too steep = an unstable Aircraft which = a stall which = CRASH!!!!
There has to be an Angle Attack for lift to be created and an airplane to fly!!!
There are 4 Forces on an Airplane
**Remember** gravity X mass = weight
Bernoulli observed an interesting phenomenon when a laminar fluid passed through a venturi tube
Bernoulli's Principle
Low Pressure = High Velocity
High Pressure = Low Velocity
Inverse Proportional Relationship
Some surprises result in cool things like carburators, airfoils, and race car spoilers!!! Bernoulli was an awesome, wig wearing fool!!!
The Mid Atlantic Aerospace Complex (MAAC) has an Educational Page for Surface Controls. Check out the LINK provided!!!
The coolest thing about MAAC is that it is located in Bridgeport, WV!!!! This means jobs in aviation are in demand in WV. Which means WV is ultimately awesome!
NASA = National Aeronautic and Space Administration!!!
A Little History
President Dwight D. Eisenhower established the National Aeronautics and Space Administration in 1958, partially in response to the Soviet Union's launch of the first artificial satellite the previous year. NASA grew out of the National Advisory Committee on Aeronautics (NACA), which had been researching flight technology for more than 40 years.
The Science of Flight explained by the coolest scientist - Bill Nye the Science Guy!!!
Subtopic
Shrink the size of geographic areas affected by objectionable airport noise by 83 percent
Emit 75 percent fewer harmful emissions
50 percent less fuel than aircraft that entered service in 1998
