In the early 20th century, the intricate network of alliances, intense nationalism, and burgeoning militarism among European powers contributed significantly to the onset of World War I.

But under 250,000 men strong Great Britain Militarism Germany Germany had the second largest Navy Austria didn't possess any colonies outside of Europe but they still had an empire, presiding over several different regions including ethnic groups.
