The development of children's literature during the Early English and Middle English periods involved significant contributions from various scholars and religious leaders. Aelfric, a teacher at a monastic school, created the oldest Latin-English dictionary and wrote educational dialogues for students.

Anselm (1034-1109)

He compiled and wrote the first enciclopedia for children, it was called the Elucidarium. Characteristic of the times, this Latin enciclopedia served to instructchildren whose education was entrusted to the clergy.
