Cons: Emailing can become constant and all-consuming, causing parents to become too involved and sometimes too pushy. Not all parents have access to an email account.
Pros: Helps teachers communicate with parents quickly and directly so that issues/problems can be taken care of quickly. Also useful in helping parents keep track of their child's progress in their academic subjects.

Another way of keeping parents informed of due dates for assignments, upcoming events, basically what is due when on a weekly or monthly basis.

Cons: Sometimes writing blogs can bring the parents too close, blurring the lines between professional and personal
Pros: Blogs can capture the parents' interest. Writing a blog can help the parents feel closer to the teacher, more like they really know the teacher.
A place where people can voice their opinions, talk about things that really matter to them, introduce themselves.
