He took over the position as Governor of Texas after Houston was fired. John Reagan He saved money for the confederates by cutting of short or unused routes and focusing on the main ones. The post office continued to work even during the war. Served in the confederate presidents cabinet as Postmaster General.This was the only form of communication other than mouth. John Bell Hood Most know for participating in the Battle Of Seven Days. He fought at a very important battle known as The Battle Of Gettysburg. Commanded Hood's Texas Brigade for the Confederation.
