Womens Rights

In the 1800s, women did not have any rights and were seen as inferior to men.

Women wanted the right to vote, work, and to not be seen as weak.

Susan B. Anthony

began with her involvement in the temperance and abolitionist movements

Activist for women's rights

Played a huge role in gaining women basic rights

Anthony called together the first suffrage convention ever held in Washington, DC in January of 1869

In 1863, she formed the Women's Loyal National Leage with a group of ladies.

In the 1830s-1840s, Anthony began her work with the Industrial Revolution.

In 1865, his goal was finally realized with the ratification of the13th amendment.

Although it was not legal, she encouraged women to vote in 1872

Susan B Anthony died on March 13, 1906. She did not live to see the fruits of her labor, which is the 19th amendment.
