Role of Committees

MOHMF

1. Set up a policy regarding use of drugs in MOH
2. approve new drug into MOH drug list
3. Delete / remove drug/dosage form/strength
4. Add/alter formulation/dosage form/indications

TWC

1. Review medical and clinical literature of new drugs to be listed
2. Review relevant information on use of medications by patients and experience with specific medications
3. Compare medications by therapeutic classifications
4. Review current therapeutic use and access guidelines and the need for revision of new guidelines
5. Give recommendation to MOHMF

DTC (SDC/HDC)

1. Provide advice on all aspects of drug management
2. Develop drug policies
3. Evaluate and select drugs for formulary list
4. Develop and implement standard treatment guidelines
5. Assess drug use to identify problems
6. Conduct interventions to improve drug use
7. manage adverse drug reactions and medication errors
8. Inform all staff members about drug use issues, policies and decisions

Pharmacists
