critical injured, life-threatening conditions

HAND SIGNALS AND OTHER NON VERBAL COMMUNICATION

recognize life-threatening situation
activate the EMS system
supply artificial ventilation and circulation

make the victim as comfortable as possible

observe the scene upon approach
keep yourself and others at the scene safe
activate the EMS system
gain access to the victim
provide basic life support to those whose lives are threatened to provide care to those most seriously injured first

PROTECTION AGAINST INFECTION
keep immunizations current
wash hands thoroughly after providing care, even wearing gloves
avoid touching your mouth, nose, eyes or personal items until after washing hand
