Objectives for Intro to Light & Sound
The student will demonstrate/explain the physics/Fundamentals of Sound
The student should demonstrate basic lighting maintenance and troubleshooting
The student should identify and describe different parts/functions of a light plot
The student should identify/analyze basic color theory/mixing
The student might analyze what makes a good sound design/choice, versus what does not
The student might analyze what makes a good lighting design/choice, versus what does not
The student should demonstrate basic operational knowledge of a modern lighting console
The student should demonstrate how to hookup and troubleshoot basic sound system
The student will identify and describe different cables and connectors
The student will identify how electricity works on an atomic level
The student will demonstrate Basic digital audio editing
The student will identify and describe basic lenses, lams, and instruments
The student will identify difference between AC and DC current
The student will identify and describe basic audio system components
The student will demonstrate/explain physics/Fundamentals of Light
Familiarize student with basic electricity and technical skills of theatrical lighting and sound technology
Observe and critically evaluate the Lighting Designs of current productions
Help students begin to notice, evaluate and appreciate light and sound as encountered in our daily lives
