Acid rain results from the dissolution of carbon dioxide, sulfur dioxide, and nitrogen compounds in rainwater, leading to numerous environmental problems. It negatively impacts aquatic life by killing fish in lakes and streams and damages trees, making them lose leaves and hindering their ability to produce food.
