Employees are entitled to various rights within the workplace, including the refusal of unsafe work, participation in health and safety development, and awareness of workplace hazards.
- Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) in workplaces with more than 20 employees or workplaces that deal with specific dangerous good(s). Workplaces who employ between 5 and 20 employees must have a health and safety representative.
- To ensure all reasonable actions are taken to keep workers safe from injuries or illness derived from the workplace.
- Owners/bosses are responsible to create and maintain a safe workplace.

Employee Equity in Ontario
- The Employee Equity Act, that ensures equal treatment of all employees regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, religious beliefs or the like.
- Men and women have the right to equal pay for work that is equal in value.
Wages
All worked time within a pay period must be paid no later than specific pay-day, aside from accruing vacation pay.
- Must be paid on a regular pay period.
- Miniumum wage of $14.25/hour, $13.15/hour for students.
