the Ukrainian people built churches, community centres, and cultural organisations to preserve their language and traditions

where they lived in Canada

when the came the lived in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Alberta and after 1920 the moved to Ontario

They gave different things to grow and plant crops

why they came

in Ukraine the were mostly farmers but did not have as many economic privileges so the came to Canada looking for a better life and economic opportunities.

After they left china the came to Canada and colonised in BC to help with the train tracks.

what they had to offer

they had workers to build the railroad across BC and the build up the land

they build the railway in BC but it was not a easy task the had to work through the harsh weather and the lived in small tents

There were many reasons people left china there was not much farm land due to the population growing and there were lots of floods and droughts and taxes were high so the moved to canada

in Ireland the potato famine drove them to Canada and the colonised in Quebec and Nova Scotia

what did the have to offer

the could not grow potato's in Ireland but the could in Canada and they provided food from their farms

what they did

the grew and tilled there own farms because the could not grow there crops in Ireland

why they came

in Ireland the people grew many crop mostly potato's but a disease not harmful to humans killed all the crops and the land was infested with it so the moved to Canada where there crops would grow.
