si sostiene che siano state costruite in Grecia e che sarebbero dovute arrivare a Roma ma la navetta che le trasportava è affondata e le statue sono state perdute nei fondali marini e lì rimasero per secoli

sono costruiti in bronzo

tutto il corpo era in bronzo eccetto i denti che erano in arganto e gli occhi che erano in avorio

BRONZO: lega di rame e stagno a cui puo essere aggiunto il piombo per renderlo più opaco
