-One hundred years later—just weeks after Toronto’s Greek community was shattered again, this time by a shooter named Faisal Hussein who randomly targeted patrons in a Greek restaurant
This type of racial tension led to the Greek moving from the Young and Carlson area were they had established themselves. They choose to move to the now Greektown area of Danforth to avoid any troubles or attacks.
-this led to his 'buddies' finding out and it lead to a riots where stores that were Greek owner were targeted for attack and the owners were beaten
- a Canadian War veteran started verbally attacking the Greek owner, condeaming Greeks for taking a neutral stance in WW1
-anti Greek Riots in Toronto on August 8th, 1918

Culture

-as a result of poverty, war and political upheavals at home this pushed Greek citizens to migrate to Canada for new opportunities
-first Greek settlements started in 1843 in Montreal with 39 Greek Immigrants
-Greek Immigration began in the early 19th century
