Cognitive Computing Application 2: Customer Tracking System

How Theory Applied

Object tracking refers to tracking one or more moving objects in a given scene. Traditionally, this technique has been used to monitor real-world interactions after the initial object has been detected. This application will be combined with OpenCV for customer tracking and detection

Other Technology

OpenCV
Motion Tracking
Face Recognition
Object Recognition

Cognitive Computing Platform

Cognitive Services (Microsoft)

Microsoft Cognitive Services provides services through five categories. Vision is one of the five categories used to analyze images and video. The application will use computer vision technology to analysis customer's purchasing behavior and help the store to make marketing strategy.

Cognitive Computing Area

Vision

Retailers can combine computer vision algorithms with store cameras to learn who their customers are and how they behave.

Application Description

In some stores, products are placed inappropriately, resulting in a drop in sales.

I want to create a program that can recognize faces and determine human characteristics of customers, such as gender or age ranges. More importantly, retailers can use the technology to track customer movements, analyze navigational routes, detect walking patterns and measure items attention time. When retailers add the function of directional gaze detection, they can improve consumer experience and maximize sales by analyzing customer behavior and buying psychology and adjusting the position of goods in stores. Facial recognition algorithms can also be trained to investigate shoplifters, or to detect when someone is hiding items in the backpack.
