I am learning different ways to describe objects.

Understanding how to describe objects involves learning about various characteristics such as mass, shape, length, lines of symmetry, area, and capacity. Mass refers to how heavy or light an object is, like comparing the weight of stuffed animals or balloons.

I am learning different ways to describe objects.

Mass

Example: how many cubes heavy/light are the stuffies, rubik cubes, beach ball, balloon, Pikachu
Definition: how heavy or light an object is

Shape

Example: rectangle, circle, triangle, square, hexagon, rhombus, diamond, octagon pentagon
Definition: a closed figure

Lines of Symmetry

Example: shapes, shapes on paper, desk, in our names, face, rainbow, letters, door, shovel, glasses
Definition: with a line in the middle, it looks the same on both sides

Capacity

Example: pasta, water, cubes, foam blocks
Definition: filling something to the top, the amount a container can hold

Area

Example: used sticky notes and playing cards to measure area of a book
Definition: the amount of space a surface takes up/ object takes up

Length

Example: how tall people are, sand snakes
Definition: the distance from one point to another, we need a common baseline
