Listening skills Essential keys to perform our listening skills and impruve kids concentration when someone is talking. Five key strategies 1 Active Listening Active listening is fundamental for kids, as well as teaching them to attentend using their whole body (for example eye contact, hands...) and focused attention. Practice this will allow them them to stay focused on the topic. 2 Following Directions This method can start with instructions like "Come here" or "Clap your hands" to develop the ability to process and act on spoken words. 3 Sound Imitation Game This game consists on that they have to imitate different sounds. This will impruve their ability to listen carefully. The children will practice the skill of distinguish and understand sounds. 4 Taking Turns to Speak Creating an environment where children take turns to talk and listen, using an object to guide them when it's their turn to speak and when they should listen to others. 5 Storytelling with Questions Reading stories and pause at certain points to ask questions about the story. This will engage them on the story and they will be paying attention to answer the questions.
