Islam gave Pi a feeling of closeness with God when praying, forming a personal connection which helped him to not feel lonely.
Christianity puzzled Pi because he was curious how a god could instil so much fear and destruction, and be loving afterwards. This gave Pi a sense of fear and respect towards God.
Hinduism gave Pi a sense of unity with the universe, helping him stay motivated and positive.

Growing up with religion, he's lived by the thought of love first his whole life. Learning about and following these religions helped shape his morals.

Islam gave Pi a sense of a personal connection with God when praying, allowing him to feel like God is always watching him, combined with his interpretation of Gods love from Christianity, gave him optimism and hope that he would be able to be saved
Christianity had a very big impact on Pi's mindset, keeping him very positive, he is very optimistic throughout his journey.
Each religion had different interpretations of how you should live your life and Pi took advantage of them, living by what he saw was the best in all of them.
