Even if the tasks are carefully selected, the instructors are the ones in charge of launching the learning process.

In TBLT method, instructors assume a more passive role in the classroom

They perform and important mediational role co-constructing learning with the students. In other words, the instructors is to work side by side with the students and monito their weaknesses and strengths.

Instructors should motivate students to invest significant energy in task completion

And also support task performance and negotiation of meaning on the part of students.

Instructors spend time monitoring students' learning

Managing students' behavior, and promoting a positive learning atmosphere, among others.
