The size of a bitmap image is defined by the product of two integers corresponding to the number of pixels in the width and height of the image
It is the parameter that tells us how much detail an image can be observed. It is defined as the number of pixels per inch. Logically, the more pixels there are in an inch, the better the image will look
Color depth
It is the number of bits of information needed to represent the color of a pixel in an image. A bit is a memory position that can have a value of 0 or 1. The greater the color depth in bits, the wider the color palette that the image will have.
RGB
The color image, as we see it, is composed of three channels: red, green and blue. It is an additive color model, that is, the more red, green and blue it is added, the more the white color will resemble
CMYK
The colors that form it are cyan, magenta, yellow and black. It is a subtractive model that is used in color printing. The color that represents an object corresponds to the part of the light that falls on that object and that is not absorbed by it. The more color you add, the closer you get to black.
Bitmap. Format used by windows
It is the most used on the web. It has a depth of 8 bits, works with 256 colors and allows animations
JPG o JPEG
Widely used for digital imaging, it supports 16 million colors in a small space due to its high compression
TIF o TIFF
Provides high-quality images and is widespread
PNG
It was created to replace the GIF and is similar to this one, although it has better quality and takes up less space
XCF
Used in GIMP allows you to save layers, channels, transparencies, etc., to later edit them
PSD
Used in PhotoShop, it has the same features as XCF
