In the 1920s, a significant cultural movement emerged in Canada, driven by a desire to reflect the nation's landscapes and spirit in the arts. A group known as the Group of Seven played a pivotal role in this artistic renaissance, striving to infuse Canadian inspiration into their works.

Economy Roared

Hydro and electricity has started in Canada and tourism had increased. The photo here shows the old dam that was built in Alberta in 1920 for hydro electricity.
There was a increase in job availability due to the production of cars. The photo here shows the assembly line for cars in a factory in toronto.
There was a high demand for gas,oil,metal and paint due to cars which had increased the economy. The photo here shows the influx in demand for cars as this delarship has so much.
The Canadian government had finally started to use the potential of the Canadian shield and began to mine there. This photo shows miners mining at the Canadian Sheild.

Women's Rights Roared

Agnes Macphail was the first female senator as women now could be senators as they were considered "persons" now.
This is a photo of Agnes Macphail the first female senator who fought for women's right and could become senator due to the work of the Famous five.
Women were now allowed to have the same rights that men have in Divorce due to the perseverance of Agnes Macphail. The photo here shows the new divorce laws in Canada.
Women were now finally considered as persons under the BNA act which was sent over to the British court and finally ruled that they were women.

Suffrage was granted to women in 1918 and they were allowed to vote in provincial elections is some provinces. The photo shows suffragates celebrating as is was announced that women could now vote.
