Don't Lie To Me
Music Video
Concept
The song is about releasing tension. Since the terror attacks in Belgium, the cities are on high alert. People are tense. We need to show this tension though Scott and the people which make up the city.
We are not representing an opinion, we are simply showing the tension which is around us. At each scene we see a slight release of tension by each individual.
Locations
Antwerp
Urban setup
Street
Metro
Town square
People
Thomas & Lucas
They will be appearing throughout the video in the locations where Scott is at. They will be busking and playing the song.
Scott
The main character. The majority of footage would be of him moving around the city and coming into contact with the people below. He needs to represent the tension and release of tension with the people he stumbles across.
Army Guy
Represented as the people trying to maintain security and control in a tense city
Located on the metro station
Lady in a hijab
Representing Islamic immigration
Located on a bench or at a coffee shop
An elderly person
Representing the older generation and how they are turning against immigration
Located on the street, could be standing outside their block having a cigarette. Would match will with the lyrics "this false air I breathe"
Thief
Style
The feeling has to be genuine and realistic. For this reason a guerrilla setup of recording would be the best option
Scenes
Scene 1
Intro, verse & first chorus
Scott will be walking down the street, showing his frustration . He will stop outside a building and light a cigarette. he will begin talking to our first character. This elderly person will be expressing his anger and frustration, the idea is for him to be talking about immigration but obviously that will not be heard. The frustration needs to be there. During the chorus we will be seeing this elderly person going on a total rant, at the of the chorus we will see the man stop shouting for a moment and give off a smile, as though he has released his tension and gotten something of his chest.
Scene 2
Second verse & second chorus
Scott puts out his cigarette and walks down to the metro. He gets his ticket and walks over to the train. As he is waiting for the train he sees the big army guy with his machine gun dangling. Then the second chorus will kick in, we will see the army guy staring straight at Scott. Then towards the second part of the chorus we will see the guy start to bounce his head along to the music. This will be his release of tension
Scene 3
Build, third chorus & ending
The third scene, during the build up, Scott comes out of the metro and walks over to the square. he sits down on a bench, The woman with a hijab comes and sits down next to him. Then at the end of the build a thief runs in and steals the woman's purse, Scott and the lady start running after this person. At the end, they don't catch him but are both bending over with their hands on their knees exhausted by the run, the music stops, they both look up at each other and smile. The run was their release of tension
