Are these animals important?

Loss of predators could have a cascading effect on other species. For the, the decline of sea otters in the pacific ocean led to an increase in sea urchin populatons. This led to negative consequensses such as sea urchins overgrazed on kelp forests which makes species that depnd on kelp endangered.

Animals such as bees are a important species that plays a critical role in pollinating plants, which is needed for food production. The bee population has been declining due to habitat loss, pesticide and climate change. Wolves can also affect the balance of an entire ecosystem by causing changes in prey population and vegetation.

Is de-extinction beneficial?

There are a ton of researched benefits that occur when a species goes extinct. For example some scientists believe that De-extinction could have a beneficial effect on the environment because when an animal goes extinct, its disappearance has a ripple effect on all the plants and animals in that species' food web. If that species is reintroduced into their previous ecosystem then that could help rebalance and restore fouled up environments. De-extinction could also slow down global warming. because if we were able to restore an animal similar to the wooly mammoth, it could help repopulate that area and slow down the melting of ice caps in the tundra.

Is there an organization trying to stop extinction?

The Act aims to prevent extinction, recover endangered species, and manage other species to prevent them from becoming endangered in Canada. Canada's Species at Risk Act protects endangered species by providing legal protection, care, and shelter. It restricts their killing, harming, and harassment

The Endangered Species Act (ESA) Is essential because it saves fish, plants, animals and other wildlife from extinction. Once

The Endangered Species Act (ESA) Is essential because it saves fish, plants, animals and other wildlife from extinction. Once an animal is extinct, they are gone forever. Losing a species could have disastrous impacts on that ecosystem. But they could also have benefits. From providing cures to deadly diseases to maintaining natural ecosystems.

What is extinction?

Extinction occurs when species dies out. Extinction happens when species are declining due to habitat loss, climate change, natural disasters, overexploitation of species for human use, or because of changes over time in that species such as genetic inbreeding and poor reproduction which all contribute to the decline in population numbers.

Does This Affect the Earth?

Animals on the earth have unique roles in their ecosystem. If they go extinct then that ecosystems balance is disturbed and other species in that ecosystem could be negatively affected. Animals in an ecosystem going extinct could have other effects on that ecosystem. It could make ecosystems vulnerable to climate change and diseases .

Can animals come back from extinction

Attempts to restore species that no longer exist and have been historically lost to extinction are known as resurrection biology. Research in this field is less concerned with reviving extinct species and more focused on creating new species that resemble extinct ones. These de-extinction strategies are known as genetic rescue.
