1950 - Big Band Era Dominates Pop Music Charts
- RnB is Rising in popularity and largely African American
- Solid body electric guitars become available
1953 - Bill Haley and his Comets rise to number twelve in the American Pop music charts, the first recognized Rock n Roll song to get so much attention and marking the start of a revolution in music.
1955 - Rock music has its official number one hit in the charts by Bill Haley and his Comets the song being "Rock Around The Clock" which is heard till this day.
1956 - Elvis Presley Officially hits the music scene and revolutionizes the music industry till this day with his recognizable sound of music.
Elvis Presley- Elvis quickly rose to his title of the King of rock gaining fame from his first song release "heartbreak Hotel" the first of nine songs he released that reached number one in the charts.
Elvis was the first person in history to reach this feat and was immortalized for his talents in the music industry.
Rocks influence today
In today's modern age rock music has lost a lot of its fame but is still recognized as a major music genre in the industry.
From the early nineties to the early twenties rock music has become one of the most influential mediums for lifestyle, fashion, language and attitude.
Rise in popularity
1960 - Rock music has officially become a dominant part of music and has a strong footing in the industry with many new fresh styles of rock emerging.
1967 - Marks the first Rock themed music festival Monterrey Pop Festival was a three day event that had 55,000 heads a day attend the event.
1970 - Psychedelic rock has begun to decline while music hard Rock and Metal have begun to rise in the vernacular with bands like Led Zepplin and the Rolling Stones becoming superstars.
