Making Curriculum Engaging
-In the context of a district
curriculum committee-
Project-Based Learning
How? Begining with the end in mind,
and determining what the standards
expect the student to know and do.
Design projects around that expectation
that are engaging and relevent. Allow
students to pose questions and desidng
the project.
When? In the first meeting, so there is time
to think about where this fits with the mapping
and curriculum, and time to research and plan
different options to meet the needs of learners.
Teach Students to Monitor
Thier Own Progress
How? Evaluation and monitoring tools
should be determined once assessments
and projects are established. They should
be meaningful and appropriate to the
learner's needs.
