Galavnised steel is commonly used for portable steel buildings for the following reasons:
- Galvanised steel is non corrosive which also contributes to its weather proof properties - making it suitable for nearly all types of weather conditions .e.g. Snow; Hailstorms; Summer conditions and rain etc. and can be coated anytime or before actual construction, can be hardened with other alloys/metals to suit it's required environments.
- Galvanised steel can be shaped easily or even pre-shaped and cut for a more rapid and (mostly) cost effective design and process.
- High cost efficiency for the company
Corrugated steel is another popular form of steel as it is easily utilised as roofing and is popular for siding and it's strength & durability.
Galvanised steel is non corrosive which also contributes to its weather proof properties - making it suitable for nearly all types of weather conditions .e.g. Snow; Hailstorms; Summer conditions and rain etc. and can be coated anytime or before actual construction, can be hardened with other alloys/metals to suit it's required environments.
However, incorrect use (e.g. unsuitable and harsh environments) or thickness can lead it to becoming prone to hailstorms or high impact particles - causing dents which may lead to leaks, damages etc.
Stainless steel - Fortified with nickel and/or chromium
- Stainless steel is highly resistant to corrosives; oxidation and harsh and extreme weather conditions. In addition, regardless of age (of the structure), stainless steel can be coated anytime or before actual construction, can be hardened with other alloys/metals to suit it's required environments.
- Ideal and versatile material for welding.
- Has high resistance to electricity (meaning stainless steel is ideal for its non conductive properties).
- Approved and appropriate aesthetics
- Can be quite expensive

Timber/Cladding - Treated with resins
- Easily customizable and countless ways to decorate in terms of visual and aesthetic designs and styles.
- High tensile strength and can be coated with a variety of resins or specialist paints in order to make the timber weather resistant.
- However, in the long - term and overtime perspective, these can wear down (sometimes) or can be prone to insects which can wear away the structure over a long period of time.
- Wood also has the potential of warping overtime.
