How does dialogue empower us to live by the golden rule

The Dialogue Of Everyday Lives

Ground rules for living

4. Accept the importance of religion
In the movie "God is not dead" I noticed how disrespectful and close minded the professor was by not allowing religion in his classroom and telling his students to sign the forms agreeing to his opinion.
3. The truth of your own religion
Josh was defending his religion by presenting everyday before class, trying and convince his professor to be more open minded and believe in God. He would make a presentation and find facts about Christianity to be more connected to his beliefs and prove why religion is important.
2. There is no neutral stance
There isn't just one opinion, Josh showed that by proving his teacher wrong.
1. Respect the faith and religion of others

New evangelization

Helping anyone in need that has sinned in the past, similar to a baptism.
Josh helped his professor and Martin convert to Christianity.

Dialogue

Being open minded/cooperative towards any religion/culture/beliefs.

Tolerance vs Acceptance

Acceptance; Learning and understanding (accepting) others opinions and thoughts.
Tolerance; Allowing yourself to hear other opinions and thoughts.
Even though the professor wasn't very open minded, he was still opened to hearing Josh's lectures everyday.

Solidarity

Supporting and having similar common interests in a particular group.

Promotion of peace

Not supporting violence or anything that could harm a relationship between one another.
