MP : Individiuals with a growth mindset are more likely to take on challeges and seeing them as opportunities to grow rather then threats to their abilities and talents and they lead more in persevere in the event of setbacks and understanding that putting in effort is crucial for improvement and this resilience help overcome obstinacies that deter from others and people with a growth mindset are open to more constructive criticism
"The Students with growth mindset completely took charge of their zation of the course material they said "I looked for themes and under-lying principles across lectures, they said: I looked for mistakes until I was certain I understood them" (PG.61 Dweck)
MP : with a fixed mindset can make learning very tedious and make it more a stressful process as most of the focus is on the outcome and it also increases concern about how others view people and those of many that have a fixed mindset define ourselves as successes and failures and trial and error and believe that others that view us in those areas aswell
the only disadvantage with a fixed mindset that talent as innate because they can feel a sense of stagnation and this can also be a root cause of procrastination and lead to feelings like unfulfilled potential for many students
And research shows that someone with a fixed mindset is focused on the judgement of that is made with their own actions and they want to prove that they have the ability and prove that they want to do something
innovation will often emerge from comfort to fear and lead to failure and confront fear and failure head on and when we let go of being judged or fear not meeting the expectations or goals that we never achieve and we start to become open to uncharted areas and start to discover new solutions from Innovators to Pioneers to Trailblazers are not fear they have a heather way of doing relationship with failure & fear in the long term
Growth mindset - skills are learnable and any goal is achievable if you're willing to work for it and the typical though pattern "i'm just not good at this yet
AP : The first problem with growth mindset is that it put's growth on a pedestal and it suggusts that we grow for example like bamboo grown on fertilizer and make's us work harder and strategize more and get feedback and if we're not growing the mindset get's more implied and we're fixed in a stuck place that's because where stuck in place cause we are not making any progress towards our goals
with a growth mindset views failure as a natural part of the learning process. They believe that abilities and intelligence can be developed over time through effort and perseverance. When they experience failure and they would likely to see it as a opportunity for the growth rather than a reflection of their worth and this vision helps their self esteem and as they focus on the lessons learned the potential for more improvement over time and could lead to embrace challenges, viewing setbacks as stepping stones to success
in order for students to learn from their mistakes so as to promote a growth they have to normalize failure in other words , When a challenge curriculum happens to all students will normalize failure and all of these aren't don't end up as failures and instead it provides mistake from a learning view as a result this is the best way for establishing a growth mindset in the classroom and freely and teach them the value of missteps
Conversely people with a growth mindset believe their abilities can be developed with hard work and dedication and they see failure as not a valuable reason of failure as not evidence for unintelligence but as a way for growth and stretching their existing abilities and in the book Mindset one example is "I brought children one at a time to a room in their school, made them comfortable, and then gave them a series of puzzles to solve. The first ones were fairly easy, but the next ones were hard. As the students grunted, perspired, and toiled, I watched their strategies and probed what they were thinking" (Dweck PG 7) so the students who saw it difficult thought it is easy but some found it easy to solve on their own
another point to a fixed mindset person can lead to negative or uneasy thinking for an example a fixed mindset can fail at a fixed task and believe it's because it's they aren't smart enough to do it where a growth mindset person might fail at a task and believe it's because they will need more time to practice for me it could be learning a new song on drums for rock band where for some i need sometime to learn a piece
Someone with a fixed mindset typically views abilities and intelligence as unchangeable traits. When they experience failure, they might interpret it as a reflection of their inherent capabilities. it can lead to feelings like shame and failure and disappointment and a diminished sense of self-worth. many people will avoid it to protect their self esteem, fearing that any failure will enforce the belief that they aren't smart enough and this cycle can stall growth and resilience over time
a fixed minded person is likely to avoid failures in life and gives up easily and becomes more intimidated or threatened by the success of other people this is in part due to the mindset not seeing intelligence and talent is something you develop
People with a fixed mindset are afraid to take risks because a lot of them fear failure and did you know it can be a incredibly good learning experience. In a fact it can be a an important step on the road to success
People with a growth mindset is when the person beileve that their abilities are innate and it can't be changed and lot's of research that has shown individuals with a more growth mindset are more resilent and more persistent and motivated
Mostly children and adults with a fixed mindset who believe their intelligence / talents/ personalties and fixed traits cannot grow and born without a certain level of ability and unable to improve our abilities overtime or without special skills
