Taiga forest
The Taiga, or Boreal, forest has faced numerous environmental challenges over the years. In 2000, deforestation driven by logging, urbanization, mining, and oil extraction was a significant issue, accompanied by the harmful effects of acid rain.
The Taiga/Boreal forest is taking an
large hit from climate change and agriculture.
Pollution from urbanization and agriculture is harming the forest largely. There are now efforts being made to save this snowy forest. Many animals cannot adapt to the climate change and this has caused many animals to become endangered.
2020
In 2020 the Taiga/Boreal forest is threatened
by human activity like logging, mining, oil extraction and acid rain. There have been little to no attempts made to help this forest. Climate change is harming this forest greatly because the heat is thawing the snow and ice layer in the forest. This can have permanent damage on the forest and ecosystems
2010
In 2010 the Taiga/Boreal forest was still facing
many climate issues. The Boreal forest was largely affected by illegal logging in Russia. Almost half of the largest Taiga forest in Russia had nearly half of its trees extracted illegally
2000
In 2000 the Taiga forest/Boreal forest was facing a significant climate crisis because of deforestation caused by logging, urbanization, mining, acid rain and oil extraction.
