Teaching philosophy

Effective teaching requires a blend of strategies to engage and motivate students. Humor can play a significant role in creating an enjoyable learning environment, which fosters a vested interest in the subject matter.

What many teachers do

Sage on the stage
Just because the teacher is involved does not mean the students are
Pure auditory learning is consistently the weakest strategy for teaching

How I plan to deliver it

Humor is an underrated component of the learning process
Having a vested interest means incentive
If students enjoy learning, they have a vested interest in learning
Capitalism as a system works because it provides incentive for improvement
Encouraging critial thinking
Teachers have to have faith in their students ability to think for themselves
Guided discussions involve students, lectures do not
Teaching is asking the right questions, not providing the answers

What students need

Hands on experience
Involvement means learning
Hands on necessarily means involvement
Self paced learning
Self paced learning encourages students to compete with themselves, not a class standard
Confidence is key in the learning process
The right vocabulary
In order for encoding to take place, key words need to make an impact
Knowledge must be encoded for learning to take place
The right medium
It's the teachers job to present material to as many intelligences as possible
Students learn differently

It's the teachers job to present material in as many mediums as possible, allowing their students to make a mental impression

The teacher's learning style cannot be projected on their students

Multiple intelligences mean multiple learning styles
