The 6 Trig functions

Type in a letter.

Tan

tangent = opposite/ adjacent

Tan = y/x

1 + tan^2θ = sec^2θ

Cos

cosine = adjacent / hypotenuse

Cos = x

Sin

Type in a song name that starts with that letter.

sine = opposite/ hypotenuse

sin = y

cos^2θ + sin^2θ = 1

Trig functions & Triangles

Type in an animal name that starts with that letter.

When looking at a right Triangle these 6 Trig functions can be used to identify the lengths of sides and angels.

Your " adjacent" side will always be adjacent to your θ

Your " opposite" side will always be opposite your θ

When you have a right triangl, your largest side with be opposite of the right angle. We call this the Hypotenuse.

Cot

Type in a person name that starts with that letter.

cotangent = adjacent / opposite

Cot = x/y

1 + cot^2θ = csc^2θ

Type in a food name that starts with that letter.

Sec

Type in a game name that starts with that letter.

secant = hypotenuse / adjacent

Sec = 1/cos

1 + tan^2θ = sec^2θ

Csc

Type in a book name that starts with that letter.

cosecant = hypotenuse / opposite

Csc = 1/sin

1 + cot^2θ = csc^2θ
