Act 2
In Act 2 Other characters see the nurse as annoying and very talkative. Also Mercutio and Romeo further make fun of her and mock her by her looks.
They do not have very much respect for her
Scene 5 the nurse enjoys the power she has over juliet- she knows Romeos answer the the marriage and it gives her a sense of self worth.
-She enjoys the drama of the situation
-Acts as a messenger between Romeo and Juliet
She is constantly involved in Romeo and Juliets conversing

Over the top about her relationship with Juliet

"And she was weaned- i never shall forget it"
Demonstrates closeness to Juliet. Shows off perhaps, that che has known her since birth- Pride
Scene 3
"Go girl, seek happy nights to happy days"
Taking care of her since her since she was a baby
Motherly love for Juliet, wants her to be happy
More central motherly role than Lady Capulet
Act 1 Scene 5
"I nursed her daughter that you talked withal"
Constant reference to the fact she is close to her
pride- Gives the nurse a sense of worth
Act 3
"I think it's best you married with the county - O, he's a lovely gentlemen!"
Changes her mind to stay out of trouble and keep the drama going
She lets Juliet down in moment of need, bad advice
Lets others suffer for her mistakes. She is selfish
Doesnt want to face the consquences so she takes the easy way out of things
Shes been playing with Juliet heart as if it was a game
Audience sees nurse in different light
Contrast the earlier Act when she was telling juliet to marry romeo
Scene 3
"I'll tell my lady you will come"
"Here, sir a ring she bid me give you"
She is delivering stuff to romeo for juliet and also delievering messages back to juliet
once again makes her seem like a messanger
She is trying to help there relationship and keep it strong for both of them
Scene 2
"shame on Romeo"
"Hie to your chamber. i'll find Romeo. To comfort you. I wot well where is he."
Nurse is saying that Romeo should be ashamed for killing Tybalt hoever to comfort Juliet she goes off to find him
Acting like a messanger
Trying to comfort and look after Juliet giving a motherly image
Act 4
Scene 5
"O day, O day, O day, O hateful day! Never was seen so black a day as this"
All the excitment she had turns into to sadness
This contrast all her excitment and joy she had in the morning.
Starts saying how she has never seen a day as sad as this
Scene 5
"Why, love, i say! Madam! Sweetheart! why, bride!"
She is forgetting about Romeo, her current husband
The nurse is getting excited because it is Juliets wedding day with Paris
