Loss of Innocence

Rosaura learns how social status can separate people even though it might not be obvious.
" You really and truly earned this. Thank you for all of your help, my pet" (Heker 5)

This situation shows me that there are certain things in life that are impacted by your identity.

Previously in life, Rosaura was naive to the fact that social status impacted how she is treated. She was innocent and she never realized that these type of things can separate people. This sitution made her realized that her social will impact how she is treated.

In this moment, Rosaura realizes that social status does impact social life and relationships some times. In this case, her kind gestures were payed with money, which shows how they view her as a lower class and thus treat her differently based on her social status.
