Teaching in the Savior's way

The Master Teacher taught us how to be Master Learners.
We are meant to be continuously learning throughout our life time.

In order to learn anything we must be willing to dig deeper.

Matthew 13:10-13

Alma 34:26-28 (Great Chapter) Alma is talking about prayer.

In verse 27 he says, "Yea, and when you do not cry unto the Lord, let your hearts be full..." the footnote of full means meditate.

The meaning of mediate combined with this scripture denotes a continuous learning, even when one is not "studying".

Meditate is meditar in Spanish and La Guia para el Estudio de Las Escrituras says *translated* To think or reflect profoundly, often concerning the scriptures or other divine things. Combined with prayer, mediation about the things of God can bring with them the revelation and comprehension.

Allowing the student to learn for themselves.
Teach the people basic principles and let them govern themselves

This is a learning experience of testing for those who are "governing themselves"

“Chapter 24: Leading in the Lord’s Way,” Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Joseph Smith (2011), 281–91 “I teach them correct principles, and they govern themselves.”

Don't just learn for yourself, but go and teach yourself.

A discourse given by Elder Oaks in 1995 called Scripture Reading and Revelation talks about teaching oneself.

I like one of the things mentioned was that one should be careful with commentaries; commentaries can give great insight but can limit one’s perception to new ideas about it.

This can also be self-discovery, by reading/listening to the Savior one can interpret what it means for themselves and apply it accordingly to their life.
