This shows immaturity to maturity because Belson telling Finn that next time he does something bad, he will get suspended from school. This shows how Piper is learning not to cover for Finn because to Belson, Piper is an excellent student and he doesn't want her to ruining her reputation to cover for Finn.

In this category, Piper shows Familial capital because even she has unhealthy relationships with her family, she gets though them and she treats the members of her band like family.
When Piper's father snap at her when he was changing Grace's diaper, it shows that her dad didn't know that there would be a chance that his children would be deaf and didn't learn sign language. pg 27
This shows the fallibility of adults because the father didn't know that Piper couldn't understand him easily. What Piper gained from the difficulties of transitions is she learned to read his lips and improved her cooping skills.
The relationship between Piper and her father is getting better because he is curious and excited that Piper is managing a band. pg 284

In this category, Piper shows Aspirational capital because deposit been deaf, she has hopes of being a rock star
When Piper found out that Jim died because of drug overdose, she seem to take back that was twenty-seven and he had only nine years left to live.

What we gain these difficulties of transitions is we have to live our lives to fullest as we can so we have no regrets to when the time comes.

This shows lack of innocence because Piper had never had to deal with death before, and dealing with the loss of Jim takes her innocence away and she realizes that Jim didn't have long to live.

"Piper is our new guitarist. Her? But she's deaf. She can't even-. Don't screw with me. Discrimination or not, she's deaf. In case you have forgotten, I negotiated with her, and she can't even speak." pg 325
What we gain from the difficulties of transitions is even if we have a disability like deafness or blindness, we have to find a way to overcome the obstacle and we can't let our disabilities hold us back.
"Our manger says you're deaf, he said speculatively. He waited for me to show signs of recognition. "Severely deaf or profoundly deaf?" I was surprised he knew the difference. "Moderately serve." pg 309
