Conflict theory embraces change because the holder of power and domination is always changing. The way things are done change all the time depending on who holds the power. Their is no conformity.

Structural Functionalist

The whole point of Structural Functionalism is trying to figure out why society functions the way it does and how different groups work together to maintain a functioning society. Because of this they resist change as the flow is disturbed and everything has to adapt and change in order to have a functioning society again.

A sociological theory that attempts to explain why society functions the way it does by focusing on the relationships between the various social institutions that make up society.

Negative relationship

This is negative because people are not excepting change and discriminating against people in many ways and it is believed to be all linked. They can't accept a women doing a "mans" job and if that women is black then they discriminate against her for that to and say it is a "white persons" job.

A concept often used in critical theories to describe the ways in which oppressive institutions (racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, xenophobia, classism, etc.) are interconnected and cannot be examined separately from one another.

Humanism

Humanism allows people to decided who they want to be and encourages uniqueness, so change is definitely viewed positively.

People can learn from observing others behaviours and if you have a positive role model, then over time you can pick up on their positive habits that help them succeed in life.

Cultural Materialism

Positive relationship

This is a positive relationship because cultures are being changed by new things introduced into their society like new technology, foods, immigrants of different beliefs and backgrounds and because of all of this, their culture is changing and becoming more diverse.

An anthropological train of thought that says the best way to understand human culture is to examine material conditions such as resources, technology, environment etc.
