HUCO Feedback

The feedback emphasizes an appreciation for learning about the concept of 'breaking the fourth wall' from an academic standpoint, termed Metalepsis. There is a desire for a broader range of topics within the course, suggesting less focus on social issues in a practical sense and more on diverse academic subjects.

HUCO Feedback

Learned

A more diverse range of topics within HUCO; Less emphasis on social issues (in a sort of practical, "how do we address this" sense)... If that makes sense.
We discussed feminism, for example, but it was more theoretical than a practical "how to defeat the patriarchy guide"
Differences between different kinds of narrators in a more practical sense; How/Why the second person functions the way it does
Always been a fan of "breaking the fourth wall", but never knew what it was from a literary/academic perspective (Metalepsis; Interactional Metalepsis)

Changes

Some of the readings felt... out dated?
More range/diversity for assignments/in-class work
Fewer small group assignments, for example. Or at least broken up with some more assignments.
I would love to see more emphasis on diversity aside from the (mostly) white women who dominated the syllabus

Highlights

Enhanced my knowledge outside of HUCO
Learned new things; Learned things that were different from my experiences in other, similar HUCO classes
Felt challenged, far more than with my other course Fall term of 2016.
