- a person pushes a car with four people in it and it moves only slightly, but then the four people get out of the car and they help push the car. While they push the car it moves easily.

- a soccer player kicks a normal soccer ball across the field and it moves very easily. Then the same player tries to kick a ball made of lead and it only moves two inches.

- a rocket takes off and the rocket takes off because air pushes downward so the rocket goes uupward

Newton's 1st Law Of Motion
An object atrest tends to stay at rest and an object in motion tends to stay in motion unless acted on by an outside force
One example of Newton's 1st Law is...
- when two people are riding in a car and the driver slams on the brakes they both keep going forward until their seat belts tighten and stop them from continuing to go forward. Because of the 1st law an object in motion will stay in motion until acted on by another force which is the seat belts. The seat belts stop them from accelerating.

- When a chair is sitting on the floor it is not moving. Someone comes up and pushes the chair across the floor. Because an object at rest will stay at rest until acted on by an out side force which is the person pushing the chair.
