TELEWORKING

Teleworking offers a blend of benefits and challenges that can significantly impact both employees and society. On the positive side, working from home can enhance comfort and reduce stress, especially for those in demanding positions.

TELEWORKING

TELEWORKING

Impacts on society?

Fewer desks will be needed in offices.
The idea of 'individual responsibilty' comes in - Its up to the person to complete their work on time.
People can organise their work around their family.
Traffic jams and parking issues should be reduced.

Technology that allows working from home

Instant messaging
Video calls
E-mails
Fax machines

Benefits of working from home

More Productive - Working in an office may put stress on people. They may work faster, but the quality of work may not be as good.
Less Distractions - At home, you are probably in a secluded room, with no outside distraction such as buiness calls etc.
Environmentally friendly - You are not using your car or public transport, which is reducing carbon emissions.

Hot Desking?

'Multiple workers using a single physical work station or surface during different time periods.'

Benefits of Teleworking

Reduces stress from a stressful position - If you are the head of a company, your job is likely the most important, which means you are expected to work the hardest.
Feel more comfortable working
Home comforts at your work place: - A good PC - Comfy chair - Food and drink

Negatives from Teleworking

Stress for those NOT teleworking - People could actually need teleworking, because of the amount of work they are given. They may not have time to complete their work in limited work hours.
No guarantee they are working 100% of the time - There is nobody checking up on you at home, so you could just be relaxing for hours on end.
Work might not be as high standard - At home, there are many more distractions for you to indulge in, so you may not be as focussed as you should be.
