The evolution of government systems has been marked by the quest for greater freedom and rights, particularly in the realm of religion and speech. Initially, voting rights were restricted to wealthy landowners, excluding many, including Africans who were deemed property rather than people.

once the monarchs had limitied power, a representative government came after a while

limited the manarch power even more, ex. the king and queen could not limit our freedom of speech.

we began to get rights

citizenship in america is different than that of other places.

a man published an article about the government abusing their power. the governer put him in jail, there was a trial held for him and he was found not guilty.

his case inspired the colonists.
that was the start of freedom of speech

only rich men who owned land could vote. Africans were consideredproperty not people.
