HOW DOES DIALOGUE EMPOWER US TO LIVE BY THE GOLDEN RULE

Dialogue plays a crucial role in fostering mutual respect and understanding among people from different backgrounds. In urban settings, where diversity is prominent, individuals often engage in conversations about their beliefs and cultures, promoting acceptance and unity.

HOW DOES DIALOGUE EMPOWER US TO LIVE BY THE GOLDEN RULE

8.) Provide evidence from newspaper articles, television, and/or the internet to find examples of interfaith dialogue.

An example of interfaith dialogue that I have seen is in a newspaper article about Seeds of Peace. The seeds of peace are a nonprofit that inspires young global leaders in areas of conflict by equipping them with skills they need to change social and political views towards peace. This is an example of interfaith dialogue because different people from different religions and cultures come together at one camp to learn more about one another and accept each other. https://www.nytimes.com/1999/08/29/nyregion/in-search-of-peace-on-common-ground.html

7.) TEXT TO WORLD: Where do I see examples of this dialogue in the world? Who, what, where, when, why, how?

I see examples of this dialogue everyday in the world especially when I am downtown and in the city. Everyone has a different religion and story to share and we are all accepting of which is wonderful. I see people on the streets all talking about their religion and asking questions.

6.) Give examples (5W's + H)

There is a woman who I work with who practices the muslim faith. She was very open to teaching me and other coworkers about her faith. This was during Ramadan. She told us about how she can only eat in non daylight hours. I was very open to learning more about her faith. My coworkers and I showed her compassion and pride for sharing about her religion. I understood the challenges that come with her faith and was very respectful about how she told us her story.

5.) TEXT TO SELF: Have I participated and shown that I have done this form of dialogue.

Yes I have participated in this form of dialogue that I have chosen (Dialogue of everyday life). I have participated in this because I am open to learning about new religions and cultures. I also am a good neighbour because when I meet a person from another religion I am kind and show compassion to that person, I do not judge them or hate them for believing in the faith that they practice.

4.) Provide specific examples explaining why this is a form of dialogue.

At the camp they learn to be kind and compassionate to one another as well as open to other cultures they may have been taught to fear or dislike. They also learn the challenges other religions face.

3.) TEXT TO TEXT: WHERE DO I SEE DIALOGUE IN THE ARTIFACTS FROM CLASS?

Seeds of peace shows the dialogue of everyday life because it encourages young adults to come together and have an open mind and safe space to talk to one another about their religion.

2.) Describe how interfaith dialogue among youth/people of different religions and/or beliefs fulfill the Churches call to share the Gospel message in our community.

Interfaith dialogue among youth of different religions share the gospel message in our community because it helps us understand different religions and celebrate each-other's differences. For example in nostrea aetate it helped the jews and catholics decrease tension they had between them and further understand eachother better.

1.) TEXT TO FAITH: Describe 1 form of dialogue. Choose 1 from the 4 we learned about. Dialogue to Everyday Life

The dialogue of everyday lifeis the dialogue of being good people and good neighbours with everyone, even people we meet from other religions. We need to understand different cultures and religions
